Green Glue Tubes (4 Pack)

Do you have a small project or are you afraid of leftovers? You can now purchase our popular Green Glue Damping Compound in convenient cases of 4 (29oz.) tubes per case.

About Green Glue

Green Glue is the simplest, most effective and most affordable soundproofing product currently on the market for any sound proofing project. Green Glue can be used over any existing wall, floor or ceiling by simply adding another layer of material to reduce sound transfer. Just apply with a standard large size caulk gun in a random pattern for cost effective application.

Green Glue has been tested in independent laboratories and has proven to be one the best sound proofing products available. Third party acoustical tests demonstrated a STC rating of 56 using green glue in a standard single stud wall with common drywall. Low Frequency sound isolation (not included in STC testing) was greatly improved over older techniques.

Green Glue is also one of the few products that greatly reduces both, impact and airborne noise. Making it a great product for multiple family projects, offices, home theaters, recording studios, playrooms, master bedrooms, wood/tile floors and anywhere you want some peace and quiet.

As one of the largest nationwide distributors of Green Glue, Trademark Soundproofing is your one stop shop for green glue, give us a call to discuss your project and see why our customers come back to us time and time again, or browse our user friendly site to place your order.

Sold in cases of 12 (29oz.) tubes per case. All our cases are factory fresh, sealed and ship the same day from our facility. Each case comes with installation instructions (in English and Spanish) and data sheets.

Green Glue tubes are applied with standard quart size caulking guns which our available at select hardware stores.

How does Green Glue Work?

In a constrained layer damping system, sometimes referred to as CLD, a damping material is sandwiched between two other (usually stiff/center of the "sandwich" is sheared rigid) materials. For example, Green Glue sandwiched between two layers of drywall. Damping occurs when the viscoelastic center of the "sandwich" is sheared (see left).

When bent, shear forces pull and stretch on the damping material. Under these conditions, the unique polymeric construction of Green Glue very efficiently converts this mechanical energy to heat. The vibration energy is not isolated, it's dissipated and gone.

How is it applied?

Green Glue comes in 29 oz. tubes or in Green Glue 5 gallon buckets. You can use a quart size caulk gun for the tubes and a bucket applicator for the buckets. Additionally green glue comes in 5 gallon buckets and can be applied with a bucket applicator. It is very fast and easy to apply. No special skills whatsoever are required. Every case of Green Glue comes with instructions in English and Spanish.

How much do I need?

Recommended application is 2 tubes of Green Glue per 4' x 8' area - 2 tubes per standard sheet of drywall. If you are not on a budget, utilizing 3 tubes per sheet will improve performance. Each case of Green covers about 192 square feet, or 128 square feet if used at the 3 tubes coverage rate. Do not use more than 3 tubes per 4' x 8' sheet as performance will actually decline above 3 tubes per sheet.
